Well...I made it. This town isn't much bigger than the last, though. Are they all around the same size? I thought I had heard there were bigger cities further on...

Er, anyway, I also heard about Pokemon...eggs? I was looking through my things and I found a handbook for Pokemon Breeders, which I apparently have been classified as. I only flipped through it, honestly, but it seems to go on to say that all Pokemon lay eggs? That...can't be right. I mean, I definitely expect it of bird Pokemon and reptiles, but mammals? You can't expect me to believe a bear lays eggs.

Speaking of bears, I was thinking of giving my Cubchoo a name. Does anyone think I'd get in trouble for using "Knut"? Since he is technically a polar bear and all...

I'm glad you made it all right. There are bigger cities, I'm in Celadon now and it's a good deal bigger than Cherrygrove or New Bark. Goldenrod seemed pretty big too though I wasn't there long.

As for the eggs...I have one that's going to hatch into a firebreathing puppy kind of pokemon. [ he shrugs a bit ] One of my companions hatched a rabbit like one and a cat like one from an egg as well. It seems like they all do come from eggs.

I don't know if you'll get to see them...laying the eggs. But I'm sure you'll have the opportunity to watch them hatch from eggs.

Yeah, all Pokémon lay eggs, even the mammals. I was surprised when I first found out too. The ones with me have laid eggs before, so I know that it really happens.

It still doesn't make sense though. Just like it doesn't make sense that two different kinds of Pokémon can mate with each other and have eggs.

Uh...naturally, I guess would be the best simile for scientific in this case. The only mammal that naturally lays eggs is a platypus.

I've never heard of platypuses before.

There are a lot of strange things here, especially with the Pokémon. Like how even if they should be strong enough they can't carry you across the water or through the air unless you use the Surf or Fly HMs on them.

Goldenrod's pretty big - a lot bigger then some of those first towns!

But just about everything hatches out of eggs. R here did, [gesturing to his Gardevoir], as did Fluffy - she's the bat on my head. It's just how this place goes - just another mystery to solve.
